After the Widespread Exhibition in Bari from September to November 2020, which involved six different locations of the city (Museo Archeologico di Santa Scolastica, Museo Civico, Museo Nuova Era, Speciale Tarshito, Pinacoteca C. Giaquinto, Chiesa di S. Teresa dei Maschi), the “journey” of The Path of the Wayfarer in Love continues, bringing together the artworks dedicated to individual countries in a single traveling exhibition, recounting the path of Tarshito’s life, who like a true traveler notes artistic encounters and visions using the magic of color.
Concept
The Path of the Wayfarer in Love is a work of art that experiments the beauty of Sharing and Unity through a symbolic pilgrimage, dedicated to the Earth, mother of all creatures. The journey begins in July 2017, when Tarshito reaches for the first time the small community of artists Huichol, in Guadalupe Ocotàn, in Mexico and cooperates with Saúl Eleuterio Carrillo. It is the beginning of an adventure that will continue in India, in the heart of the sub continent, with the Gond artist Venkat Raman Singh Shyam, from Bhopal. The journey continues in Nepal, with three Tibetan monks Lobsang Kunkhyap, Lobsang Kunphen and Lobsang Yangdak and then in Peru, at Pucallpa with the shipibo painter Lastenia Canayo Garcia and then in Bangladesh, Jessore with Totini Saha and her group of embroiderers. Then in Morocco, at Assilah with the calligrapher Sadik Haddari and finally Seoul in South Korea with the artist Son Oe Ja. These geographic areas have been intertwined; have drawn the trajectory of a symbolic path in which people, cultures and territories, gathered in Art, celebrating their meeting on the same canvas, through the artistic expression of their traditions, their most ancient myths and legends of their peoples…
The Path of the Wayfarer in Love is a rolled rough canvas, m 10.80 long on which Tarshito and his collaborators have painted the image of a re-invented map of the World with the clear objective of nullifying any form of division, border or geographical limits. On the new territories, all strictly painted with ink inks and watercolors in shades of white, black and gray, stand out the colorful pilgrimages, represented, with the lively and traditional techniques of the artists residing in the places of the world crossed by Tarshito during his artistic travel. All on the same earth, to experiment together an artistic and spiritual research.
Tarshito, together with the various artists involved in the project, gave life, in little more than two years, to a collection of over 100 artworks, some of these have been received with enthusiasm and exhibited at the Italian Cultural Institute in Mexico City, at the Arts of the Earth and Art Konsult galleries in New Delhi, India. At the Edge gallery in Dhaka, Bangladesh, at the Italian Cultural Institute of Rabat in Morocco, at the Italian Cultural Institute of Seoul, in South Korea, at the Italian Cultural Institute of Lima in Peru and in the widespread exhibition held in six museums in the city of Bari in 2020.
A work of art and at the same time an artistic action that abolishes all forms of separation by bringing together lands and peoples of the world in the name of the center, of the One … of the All that gathers everyone on the path of Humanity.
